A Message From My Heart to Widows - Part 2

YOU’RE HEADED TOWARD HEALING, YOU WILL GET TO THE OTHER SIDE OF YOUR PAIN.

Here are a few scriptures to spend time in, that will help strengthen you as you walk through this period of grief.

ISAIAH 41:10

WE HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT WHEN WE FEEL PARALYZED IN OUR GRIEF AND FEEL ALONE, GOD ISN’T FAR AWAY.

SOME THINK THEIR PAIN MEANS GOD IS ABSENT FROM THEM. HE ISN’T AND NEVER WILL BE

HE’S OMNIPRESENT, NEARER THAN OUR BREATH, AND HIS SPIRIT IS OUR CONSTANT COMPANION, HE LIVES IN US.

HE HASN’T LEFT US TO GET THROUGH THIS INTENSE PAIN ALONE.

HE IS IMMANUEL, GOD WITH US.

HEBREWS 13:5-7

HE DOESN’T EXPECT US TO WALK THROUGH THE VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH ON OUR OWN PSALMS 23:4. HE’S CARRYING US THROUGH IT.
HE DOESN’T REQUIRE THAT WE HAVE OUR OWN STRENGTH BUT TO KNOW THAT HE IS OUR STRENGTH HABAKKUK 3:19 . HE’S SUPPLYING US WITH IT.
HE DOESN’T DEMAND THAT WE MUSTER UP OUR OWN SOURCE OF UNDERSTANDING BUT TO “TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL OUR HEARTS”. PROVERBS 3:5. HE’S GUIDING US AS WE GO.

I TIMOTHY 5:1 - 16 HONOR TRUE WIDOWS

“Honor widows who are really widows. But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them first learn to show piety at home and to repay their parents; for this is good and acceptable before God. Now she who is really a widow, and left alone, trusts in God and continues in supplications and prayers night and day. But she who lives in pleasure is dead while she lives. And these things command, that they may be blameless. But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. Do not let a widow under sixty years old be taken into the number, and not unless she has been the wife of one man, well reported for good works: if she has brought up children, if she has lodged strangers, if she has washed the saints’ feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, if she has diligently followed every good work. But refuse the younger widows; for when they have begun to grow wanton against Christ, they desire to marry, having condemnation because they have cast off their first faith. And besides they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house, and not only idle but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not. Therefore I desire that the younger widows marry, bear children, manage the house, give no opportunity to the adversary to speak reproachfully. For some have already turned aside after Satan. If any believing man or woman has widows, let them relieve them, and do not let the church be burdened, that it may relieve those who are really widows.”

Even if your situation at this time doesn’t look like you will make it.

I want you to trust and lean into these next three scriptures, and believe that God’s grace is sufficient to bring you through.

HABAKKUK 3:17-19

“Though the fig tree does not blossom And there is no fruit on the vines, Though the yield of the olive fails And the fields produce no food, Though the flock is cut off from the fold And there are no cattle in the stalls, Yet I will [choose to] rejoice in the Lord; I will [choose to] shout in exultation in the [victorious] God of my salvation! The Lord God is my strength [my source of courage, my invincible army]; He has made my feet [steady and sure] like hinds’ feet And makes me walk [forward with spiritual confidence] on my high places [of challenge and responsibility].

II COR 12: 9-10

“but He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me. So I am well pleased with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, and with difficulties, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak [in human strength], then I am strong [truly able, truly powerful, truly drawing from God’s strength].”

Deuteronomy 26:12

When you have finished laying aside all the tithe of your increase in the third year- the year of tithing- and have given it to the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, so that they may eat within your gates and be filled.

Become one and have a healthy relationship

AS I EXPOUND ON HOW YOU HAVE TO ALLOW GOD HELP YOU BECOME ONE AND HAVE A HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP.

FIRST;

JESUS SAID IN MATTHEW 19:11 THAT MARRIAGE IS FOR THE MATURE

LET’S START WITH COLOSSIANS 3:18-21

Wives , be subject to your husbands [out of respect for their position as protector, and their accountability to God], as is proper and fitting in the Lord.

Husbands , love your wives [with an affectionate, sympathetic, selfless love that always seeks the best for them] and do not be embittered or resentful toward them [because of the responsibilities of marriage]. Children , obey your parents [as God’s representatives] in all things, for this [attitude of respect and obedience] is well-pleasing to the Lord [and will bring you God’s promised blessings].

Fathers , do not provoke or irritate or exasperate your children [with demands that are trivial or unreasonable or humiliating or abusive; nor by favoritism or indifference; treat them tenderly with lovingkindness], so they will not lose heart and become discouraged or unmotivated [with their spirits broken].”

‭‭OKAY LETS START WITH THE WORD SUBJECT IN VERSE 18 WHICH WE COULD ALSO SAY SUBMIT, WHICH IS A DIRTY WORD IN MOST WOMENS VOCABULARY

BECAUSE IN THE PAST IN THE CHURCH WE WERE TAUGHT THE HUSBAND WAS THE BOSS. AND EVERYONE IN THE FAMILY HAD TO JUST SUBMIT TO WHATEVER HE SAID OR DID. WHETHER IT WAS GOOD OR RIGHT FOR THEM OR NOT. HOWBEIT THAT BROUGHT ABOUT A LOT OF ABUSE IN OUR CHRISTIAN FAMILIES.

WELL, HALLELUJAH THAT ISN’T WHAT GOD WAS SAYING AT ALL.

AS THE CHURCH HAS GROWN AND MATURED OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS IN THE WORD OF GOD. WE’VE LEARNED THAT THE HUSBAND ISN’T THE BOSS, BUT THE ONE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROTECTING, GUIDING, LEADING, CHERISHING, NOURISHING, LOVING, PROVIDING AND BUILDING UP THE FAMILY, STARTING WITH THE WIFE FIRST.

EPHESIANS 5:25 - 26

“Husbands, love your wives [seek the highest good for her and surround her with a caring, unselfish love], just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify the church, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word [of God],”

HE’S THE HEAD OF THE FAMILY, LIKE CHRIST IS THE HEAD OF THE CHURCH. AND HE’S THE ONE HELD ACCOUNTABLE TO GOD

HE’S THE ONE THAT HELPS EACH FAMILY MEMBER KNOW AND GROW INTO THEIR GOD GIVEN PURPOSE.

SO, LADIES OUR HUSBANDS HAVE A LOT OF RESPONSIBILITY AND NEED US PRAYING FOR THEM MORE THAN WE REALIZE.

THEY ARE THE CHRIST IN OUR HOMES, SANCTIFYING US AND CLEANSING US WITH THE WASHING OF THE WATER WITH THE WORD WITH THEIR WORDS, SPEAKING INTO US AND DECLARING OVER US WHO WE ARE.

NOW WIVES LETS GET BACK TO US WITH THIS WORD SUBMISSION:

I PETER 3:1 - 2

“Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives, when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied by fear.”

EPHESIANS 5:22 - 24

“Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.”

So ladies, Showing and giving respect to your husband is soo important.

As you use your words to build your man up, it will cause him to trust you with his private insecurities, and will make your relationship stronger than ever.

You Winn, when you’re not tearing down but building up.

Your husband will be your Superman as you learn how to speak to him and pray for him.

Wives, God is requiring us to respect our husbands both in their position as protector and in their responsibility to God as head of the home.

Headed Toward Healing

Every time you accept the loss and feel it, you are headed toward healing.

Here are some scriptures I pray will encourage you:

We have to remember that when we feel paralyzed in our grief and feel alone, God isn't far away. Some think their pain means God is absent from them. He isn't and never will be. He is omnipresent, nearer than our breath, and His spirit is our constant companion, He lives in us. He hasn't left us to get through this intense pain alone. He is Immanuel, God with us (Hebrews 13:5-7).

He doesn't expect us to walk through the valley of the shadow of death on our own (Psalms 23:4). He's carrying us through it.
He doesn't require that we have our own strength but to know that He is our strength (Habakkuk 3:19). He is supplying us with it.
He doesn't demand that we muster our own source of understanding but to "trust in the Lord with all our hearts" (Proverbs 3:5). He is guiding us as we go.

A Message From My Heart to Widows

Don't let the lost make you a victim for the rest of your life.

Yes, your heart is broken and it may feel like it will never be whole again.

PROVERBS 13:12

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life.

I know about loosing hope and suffering from a broken or sick heart. Sickness and disease will take you out, if you let it. So, you must fight to live! For God is your hope (Psalms 62:5).

Even though I'm talking to widows, this message could be for anyone that has suffered a loss. A child, a parent, a job, your home, your health, your investments, finances, a relationship, your purpose, etc.

"Jesus is the Healer of a broken heart!" - Luke4:18

"A sound heart is life and health to the body, envy is rottenness to the bones." - Proverbs 14: 30

Don't let the lost make you a victim for the rest of your life. Life has changed, and you will have to make adjustments as you walk out the process of grief. But you can't let your husband or wife's transition to heaven make you think that God wants your life to end. You are still here and God still has purpose for your life! You must begin to understand that you are valuable to God and he loves you!

God promises to never leave us or forsake us. To never leave us helpless or fail us. I understand very well, when you "feel" forsaken you accept the idea that you are alone. The reality is, that despite how you feel, you are not alone. God is with you, and in those moments you cannot trust or rely on your emotions, but the promises of God.

It is through his word, that he promises us, that leaving is something He will never do. Forsaking us is not God's nature towards us. You might be saying, "Well, why did my spouse die? Why didn't God stop it?" God has given each of us choices to choose to make our own decisions. He never over powers our own will, but He is always there to work things together for the good of those who love Him!

The Bible says in Jeremiah 29:11 that God has plans of good and not evil for you. He has an expectant end for you! They are His plans, not ours. We may have many plans, but it's the Lord's plans that will prevail.

During the grieving period, you will go through many emotions. Making major decision out of your emotion will only appear unstable. You may ride the waves of your emotions and experience anger, fear, guilt, regret, loneliness, and doubt. But you can not stay in those emotions. You have have to submit your emotions to the Holy Spirit and lean on Him and God's word.

I realized I couldn't trust myself to make good and sound decisions during that time in my life. The Holy Spirit is our comforter, and He is always willing to help us walk through any and everything we encounter. Also, during this period, it is good to have people around you that love you! As a matter of fact, it is a necessity! You need people that love you and have your best interest at heart. They can help you make good sound decisions. Another good simple suggestions is during this grieving period is to drink plenty of water a day and eat less fatty foods. Try to eat healthier foods such as fruits, vegetables, chicken, fish (not fried), and turkey. Also try and get plenty of exercise. Something as simple as walking can help relieve stress, give you energy and clear your mind. Remember, the enemy's goal is to make you feel hopeless and without purpose.

But God wants you to live your best life!

Here are a few scriptures that helped sustain me during my season of grief.

HEBREWS 13:5

God said; I will never leave you or forsaken you, nor give you up nor leave you without support. Nor will I in any degree leave you helpless!

Hebrews 13:6

So, I can take comfort and boldly say:

The Lord is my Helper in time of need, I will not be afraid!

Psalms 68:5

God is a Father of the Fatherless and a Judge and Protector to the widow!

Proverbs 15:25

The Lord will destroy the house of the proud, But He will Establish/Protect the boundary/Property of the widow

Psalms 146:9b

He cares for the orphans and widows, but He frustrates the plans of the wicked.

Isaiah 1:17

Fight for the rights of widows!

Zechariah 7:10a

Do not oppress widows and orphans

Isaiah 54:4 - 6

Fear not; you will no longer live in shame.

Don’t be afraid; there is no more disgrace for you.

You will no longer remember the shame of your youth and the sorrows of widowhood

For your creator will be your husband; the Lord of Heaven’s Armies is His name.

He is your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, the God of all the earth.

For the Lord has called you back from your grief!
